Samuel Meleika obtained his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 2011 from California Polytechnic University Pomona and his Civil Engineering License in 2016. While studying to get his degree, he immersed himself in the profession by working as a draftsman to gain industry experience. Prior to working for NTS Structural Sam spent 7 years as a plan check engineer gaining a unique understanding of the California Building code and regulatory culture.
Mr. Meleika approaches design problems in a utilitarian, pragmatic way that allows for cost-effective solutions. An example of this was seen in the seismic retrofit of an apartment complex in Santa Monica, California. Instead of taking the conventional route of implementing steel beams and columns, Sam was able to structurally upgrade the existing exterior walls to be structurally sound, thus saving the client substantial time and money.
Sam oversees each NTS Structural project from concept to creation. His unique experience and approach allow for solutions to complex engineering problems in an increasingly demanding landscape.
